Open QuickTime Player

On your Mac, open the QuickTime Player app. You can find it using Spotlight search (press Command (⌘) + Space, then type QuickTime Player).

Start a new movie recording

From the menu bar at the top of the screen, choose File > New Movie Recording. A recording window will appear.

Choose your Apple TV 4K to display its screen

Click the arrow next to the Record button, then select Apple TV 4K under Camera. Your Apple TV screen will appear in the QuickTime window. If this is your first time connecting to your Apple TV 4K, a Airplay code may appear on your TV screen. Enter this Airplay code on your Mac to complete the connection.
